Dive into the world of Adlerian Play Therapy from the comfort of your own home or office.  Adlerian Play Therapy is an evidence-based practice developed by Dr. Terry Kottman.  Integrating Adlerian principles with the therapeutic power of play, participants will end this book study with a wealth of resources for assessing and treating children.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify at least 3 basic principles of Adlerian Theory that inform Adlerian Play Therapy. 

  2. Analyze a play therapy case conceptualization through an Adlerian Theory lens. 

  3. Assess how family systems enhance or impair the play therapy process according to Adlerian Theory.  

  4. List key components of play therapy treatment plans using Adlerian concepts. 

  5. Identify eight Adlerian Play Therapy strategies (2 for each state of treatment) to use with clients and caregivers. 

  6. Describe how an egalitarian relationship facilitates the play therapy process. 

  7. Demonstrate an Adlerian approach to setting limits in play therapy. 

  8. Compile a list of clinical characteristics of an effective Adlerian Play Therapist.
