Rising Strong™

for

Helping Professionals

Led by
Crystal Amundson, LCPC, CDWF

The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. The pandemic has complicated helping professions (counseling, ministry, teaching, etc) and the call to courage is constant.  Join us to explore and embrace this call.  Participants will engage in the Rising Strong™ process to learn how to rise from falls, overcome mistakes, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness to our lives and whatever the future holds.  Eligible for 9 hours of continuing education for LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, and LMFT through the Montana Board of Behavioral Health.  The Fall 2020 session is full.

Learning Objectives

  1. Combat compassion fatigue by identifying the physics of vulnerability and the ten rules of engagement for Rising Strong.

  2. List values central to your work & describe how values clarification is connected to resiliency.

  3. Explain 6 ways people commonly offload hurt & practice recognizing when they are occurring.

  4. Demonstrate at least 4 strategies for developing distress tolerance & emotional regulation.

  5. Define shame and recognize when “strategies of disconnection” impede professional practice.

  6. Describe the practice of “BIG” and assess how to implement it in your professional practice.

  7. Use the acronym “BRAVING” to describe the anatomy of trust & analyze what obstacles to trust may be present in your professional practice.

  8. Articulate how and identify when anxiety can manifest as patterns of overfunctioning and underfunctioning behavior.

  9. Identify key learnings and articulate how to integrate key learnings into your professional practice.

This course is not eligible for The Daring Way™ CEs and participants cannot promote themselves as CDWF-Candidates or CDWFs upon completion.
